Crayford Manor House Astronomical Society meet for the final time in their old home
Having celebrated its 50th Anniversary in 2011, the Crayford Manor House Astronomical Society is entering a new phase of operation in 2012, becoming independent from the Adult Education Centre and meeting at a new base in Sutton-at-Hone, Kent.
This new beginning will allow the society to forge its own path, open up flexible membership for existing and new members, and undertake a wider range of activities.
It will continue to run a schedule of regular, high quality lectures provided by experts from the world of astronomy, science, technology, history and education.
In addition, it will hold regular Society Nights, where members can discuss news, events and also share the results of their own research and observations.
The new venue will aslo allow the society to conduct practical observing and coaching sessions for beginners using binoculars, telescopes or webcams.
Annual membership will now begin at £35, with full members entitled to attend all lectures, Society Nights and activities, for £125.
